We've made the first year!

Swimming fav thing in Oz!
My big 5 year old 21/09/13

We've made the first year!

What a year it's been! since I last blogged we've had a fabulous two weeks in Australia, and our Joshy has just gone from strength to strength. He was still on milkshakes in Australia but over the past week has been eating much better. He came home from Aussie just about swimming, after intense input in the pool from Nana and grandad.

He wasnt the same in the theme parks as he was last year, definitely more subdued, not the thrill seeker he was, but he still had great fun! and it was animals, animals, animals. I think hes going to be a marine biologist when he grows up.

A Whale of a Party!

On the second of November we celebrated Joshua's birthday belatedly and the fact that we've made it to a year. We had a Marquee, band, a beautiful minion cake thanks to my fabulous cousin Kirsten!

A great day was had by all... the following day was not so good for Mother, It's very unseemly for a 42 year old to indulge to that level and I haven't had a drink since! I think I've been cured of my love for sav blanc.

Me and my cake!
Me and Jaymes
Me and Emma
Me and Dion!

6 Months post Chemo

Joshua had his second 3 month scan on Monday, we are now 6 months post chemo. We had a wonderful few days leading up to it, we have been embarking on a 'summer of fun' since the beginning of November when our sunshine arrived.

We spent a weekend at Mum and Dads at Te Kaha, the kids had a blast, we went up to the Station behind my parents and swum in the river, we found a skeleton (probably a cow) but we convinced the kids it was a dinosaur, although Joshua thought it was a horsey and Georgia thought it was a chicken. The next day we went to the beach, played in the rock pools and searched for crabs. It was awesome!

This weekend we went to Waihi Beach, a favorite spot of mine. We stayed at the top ten, the kids swam, played at the beach, fed the Eels, swam more...

We then went up to Aucks for the scan, I always work myself into a state for weeks before we go. Think I might have to start working with a psychologist to help me 'live' with my 'no guarantee's life' and to help me strategise going up to Auckland. Everytime I feel like i'm going to the guilotine.

But we are home, all is well, Christmas is coming.

I'm decking the house out in lights this year. I think in time i'd like to turn our house into one of those Christmas houses that poeple pay to visit... and use it to raise money for Ronald Mcdonald or CCF.

Photos will come when it's up!
