Well I'm pleased to say that thus far in ward 27b things are stable and settled. Joshua was started on Friday on a drug called gabapentin, which I've been asking for, for a month now. Within 24 hours it had made a big difference to his tummy pain. He
hasn't had morphine since. So we are onto our second day of chemo today, he vommitted a couple of times on waking this morning, but is playing, laughing and showing his soft underbelly to the nurses, so they are all fluttering their eyelashes and telling
him how gorgeous he is. (Which he is, of course!)
Hes also deliciously porky at the moment, he put on a little weight while at home and looks heaps better than some of the other kids. This is reassuring.
Im getting a bit anxious now, the end
of the treatment phase is in sight. His last dose of chemo for the main part of round three goes in tomorrow, cells in Thursday and Friday and hopefully home on Saturday afternoon. With a bit of luck we might be home a bit more this round. then just
one more to go!
