On Sunday afternoon we were very humbled with a visit from our friends Shirley and Duncan Brown from Fenton park Church. My association with Fenton Park began a year ago, when walking past one day I saw a poster on the outside of the Church advertising
'Music and Things' which is their Wednesday morning equivalent to the 'Mainly Music' franchise, which we were an active part of at home, in Hamilton. So I was very excited to find something like this so close to home. It was a very important part of our life
and I kept Joshua out of kindy on Wednesday to go. So unless there was something really dire happening in the motel on a Wednesday, off the kids and I would trot.
It was here that I met Shirley and Dee Horne, after a while we had a young man start working
for us, he applied for a Job vacancy we had and his name was Matt Barnard. Matt was an awesome witness to our family. We hope that our boys grow up to be like Matt, he made a huge impression on us as a family. We also have another connection with the church,
we are yet to follow up on, A family in Hamilton that were one of our best friends were Arnold and Jules Yeoman, who's brother is Phil Yeoman who also attends Fenton Park, so we have a lot to talk to them about, when we catch up with them.
When we returned
home for our month off between radiotherapy and chemo, we went on our second Sunday home to church. Although I've been a Christian since the age of 18, Mikes only ever attendance at church was for our Wedding! But he's never been closed, it was even his idea
to go to Church on Christmas Eve here in Auckland. So I was very proud to stand in church with my whole family that Sunday morning. Unfortunately that day, there was no one we knew! But we knew people in the church were praying for us and we wanted to say
thank you as a family. The lovely elder on the door, passed our details on to the eldership and we have been stunned by your support ever since.
Thankyou so much for your prayers, for your blog messages, for the wonderful cards we received in the gift
basket, for the petrol vouchers, for the money, for the food and for the gifts for the kids. To the lovely person who sent the toys, my boys have been asking for 'angry birds hot wheels' for sometime. I said to Daniel yesterday, God got someone to choose
that gift for you, God see's everything that you need, so you need to say a prayer and thank God for someone sending you that. And he did.
So thank you Fenton Park, we were overwhelmed and humbled and we look forward to meeting you all in person soon.
And we especially thank Shirley and Duncan for taking the time to visit us here in Auckland . It really gave us a boost, to have someone come and pray with us and to have hands laid on our precious boy.
