Well if it isn't one thing it's something else. Overnight last night Joshua's temp went up to 40. I was up between 0230 and 0330 while he vommitted with the temperature and the terrible pain. I was also having to justify giving him a push of his pain
button, to his nurse at 3am, while he was bolt upright with pain. The pain team were horrified when I told them this morning I was having to fight to get my child pain relief. It's just exhausting. So today he has gone onto a ketamine infusion, this is another
pain relief/anaesthetic agent.
The good news is that his pain has improved today, he was 'pain free' for most of the morning. The bad news is his temperatures are through the roof and we don't know why. They can't find the source.
Mike has come
back to Auckland today, which is great for morale. I had a big sleep this avo, and didn't have to get up to help Joshua out which was nice! I got to talk about normal things, the motel, the shed and didn't want to slap him, so must be feeling a little calmer
at the moment. Normally, with Joshua so sick, I can't even tolerate hearing about the real world. It's just too much.
